Á sýningunni Gulari gulur má sjá ný verk eftir Unu Björgu sem takast á við fyrirmyndir og eftirmyndir, breyskleika endurminninga en líka aðlögunarhæfni minnisins til að skapa samfellda frásögn.
Í verkum sínum beitir Una ýmsum brögðum til að velta upp spurningum um fegurð, gildi, tilvist okkar, hegðun og hátterni. Hún notar til þess áferð og gildishlaðin efni á slunginn en sparlegan hátt.
Una Björg Magnúsdóttir(f. 1990) býr og starfar í Reykjavík. Hún nam myndlist við Listaháskóla Íslands og stundaði framhaldsnám við ÉCAL í Sviss þaðan sem hún útskrifaðist árið 2018. Verk Unu hafa verið sýnd meðal annars í Listasafni Reykjavíkur, Listasafni ASÍ, Gerðarsafni, Y gallerí, KEIV í Aþenu, GES2 í Moskvu og Künstlerhaus Bethanien í Berlín.
Árið 2021 hlaut Una hvatningaverðlaun íslensku myndlistarverðlaunanna og í ár hlaut hún Guðmunduverðlaunin.

A YELLOWER YELLOW
The exhibition A yellower yellow presents new works by Una Björg Magnúsdóttir, which address the concepts of authentic and facsimile. The works explore the fallibility of memories as well as the adaptability of memory to create a coherent narrative. Una Björg plays a variety of tricks in her work to raise questions about beauty, values, and our existence, behaviour, and demeanour. To this end, she uses texture and valueladen materials in a subtle but spare way.
Una Björg Magnúsdóttir (b. 1990) lives and works in Reykjavík. She studied fine arts at the Iceland University of the Arts and pursued postgraduate studies at ÉCAL in Switzerland, graduating in 2018. Her works have been exhibited at, among others, the Reykjavík Art Museum, ASÍ Art Museum, Gerðarsafn, Y Gallery, KEIV in Athens, GES-2 in Moscow, and Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin. In 2021, Una received the Motivational Award from the Icelandic Art Prize in 2021, and this year, she was awarded the Guðmunda Award from Guðmunda Kristinsdóttir Arts Fund.
