Samfellur er sýning Pétur Geirs Magnússonar þar sem hann sýnir nýja seríu lágmynda sem unnar voru við Álftavatn.
Samfellur er einskonar leiðangur milli málverks og skúlptúrs, listar og hönnunar, handverks og nútímalegrar tækni. Verkin kanna samband ljóss og skugga og hvernig ljósbrigði hafa áhrif á liti og form. Þema sýningarinnar er samfellur, en með nýju föðurhlutverki hefur Pétur Geir fengist við nýjar áskoranir sem hann upplifir að endurspeglist í lágmyndunum. Í verkunum eru mismunandi mótíf úr náttúrunni klippt úr samhengi, felld saman í önnur og færð á nýjan stað þar sem þau öðlast nýja heild rétt eins og hann sjálfur upplifir með föðurhlutverkinu. „Ég er kominn í nýtt samhengi og ég er að fást við nýja heildræna mynd, þ.e. fjölskyldu. Heitin á myndunum eru brot úr þeim lögum og ljóðum sem ég syng fyrir dóttur mína og ég tengi við myndirnar og því er sýningin einskonar myndræn samfella tíðarandans hjá mér.“
Pétur Geir Magnússon, (f. 1994) lagði stund á grafíska hönnun og sjónræna miðlun við Listaháskóla Íslands (BFA árið 2020), ásamt því að fara í skiptinám við Gerrit Rietveld Academie í Amsterdam, Hollandi. Pétur hefur haldið tvær einkasýningar á Íslandi, fyrst „Lágmyndir – endurkoma“ árið 2021 og síðan „Annarskonar Annaspann“ árið 2022, auk þess að taka þátt í samsýningum í Amsterdam (2018), Mílanó (2022) og Brussel (2022).

Continuum is some kind of an exploration between painting and sculpture, art and design, craftsmanship and modern technology. The works explore the relationship of light and shadow and how nuances of light affect colors and shapes. The theme of the exhibition is continuum and with his new role as a father, Pétur Geir has faced new challenges that he feels are reflected in the reliefs. In the works, different motifs from nature are clipped from their context, merged into others, and relocated where they acquire a new whole, just as he himself experiences with fatherhood. “I have entered a new chapter and am dealing with a whole new context, i.e., family. The titles of the paintings are excerpts from the songs and poems I sing to my daughter, and I connect with the images; therefore, the exhibition is a kind of visual continuum of the present moment."
Pétur Geir Magnússon (b. 1994) studied graphic design & visual communication at the Icelandic University of the Arts (BFA 2020), with an exchange semester at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Pétur has held two solo exhibitions in Iceland, the first titled „Lágmyndir – endurkoma“ in 2021, his second „Annarskonar Annaspann“ in 2022, and been a part of group exhibitions including Amsterdam (2018), Milan (2022), and Brussel (2022.)
