Loftskeyti til Íslands er eins árs myndlistarverkefni þar sem Árni býr til eitt verk á viku og sendir þau reglulega frá Antwerpen, þar sem hann er búsettur, til Íslands. Eina reglan er að hvert verk verður að passa í bólstrað umslag. Verkin birtast jafnt og þétt í setustofunni í Ásmundarsal. Í lok árs verða öll verkin sýnd í yfirlitssýningu í Gryfunni.
Verkefnið er eins konar dagbók, þar sem hugmyndir, tilfinningar, draumar og tilraunir þróast í rauntíma, án fyrirfram ákveðins þema. Jafnframt er þetta leið fyrir Árna til að staðsetja sig í hverri viku og fylgjast með hvernig efniviður og inntak mótast yfir árið.
Árni Jónsson (f. 1989) vinnur myndlist sína aðallega í stafræna miðla, trésmíði og innsetningar. List hans einkennist af einfaldri, gamansamri og hnitmiðaðri nálgun, um leið og hann tjáir persónulegar hugsanir og fangar liðna og/eða ímyndaða atburði. Árni er með BA-gráðu frá Listaháskóla Íslands (2016) og meistaragráðu frá Royal Academy of Fine Arts í Antwerpen (2023).

Package to Icelandc is a one-year art project where Árni creates one artwork each week and regularly sends them from Antwerp, where he lives, to Iceland. The only rule is that each work must fit within the dimensions of an envelope. The pieces are exhibited in the café at Ásmundarsalur, and at the end of the year, all the works will be exhibited in an exhibit at Gryfan.
The project acts like a diary, where ideas, emotions, dreams, and experiments evolve in real time without a pre-established theme. It also serves as a weekly check-in for Árni to see how his material and inspiration develop over the year.
Árni Jónsson (b. 1989) is a multidisciplinary artist working mainly with digital media, installations, and woodworking. His art is characterized by a straightforward and humorous approach while expressing personal thoughts and capturing past and/or imagined events. Árni holds a bachelor's degree from The Iceland University of the Arts (2016) and a master's degree from the Royal Academy in Antwerp (2023).
